英文法と洋楽
今年度は久々に英語表現の授業を担当しました。
なるべく洋楽を使いながら新しい文法事項を導入しました。
今回は授業で使った洋楽を今後のために記録しておきます。
1. "Wasted Nights" by ONE OK ROCK
ONE OK ROCK: Wasted Nights [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
時制の導入として使いました。ONE OK ROCKは高校生にも人気ですし、映画『キングダム』の主題歌として使われいたので、反応は良かったと思います。
ただまだこの頃はどのように洋楽を導入するか試行錯誤だったので四苦八苦していた記憶があります。
We’ll think about tomorrow when the sun comes up.（未来表現と時を表す副詞節の時制）
'Cause by this time tomorrow, we’ll be talking ‘bout tonight.（未来進行形）
2. "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble

完了形の導入として。こちらもクラフト・ボスのCMとして使われていたので、またアップテンポなので聴いていて楽しいので。
I just haven’t met you yet. （現在完了形）
3. "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran

助動詞の導入として。 歌詞の内容とMVが少し合致しなくて少し生徒が混乱した記憶が。まあ歌詞の解釈によりますが。できるなら歌詞の解釈について議論したいですが、なかなか時間的にもクラスタサイズ的にも難しいですね。
Loving can hurt sometimes.
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes.
4. "You can't hurry love" by The Supremes

不定詞のいろんな用法が入ってて素晴らしい。テンポが良く歌詞も簡単なので生徒も気に入った様子だった気がします。Phil Collinsがカバーしたものもあったけど、こちらの方が聞き取りやすかったので。
I need love, love to ease my mind（副詞的用法）
I need to find, find someone to call mine（形容詞的用法）
How many heartaches must I stand before I find a love to let me live again?
などなど
5. "It's a beautiful day" by Michael Buble

動名詞・不定詞の導入として。授業で使ったMVが消えている…これも朝の情報番組で使われていた記憶があり。生徒も知っているみたいでした。

6. "Happier" by Ed Sheeran

比較級の導入として。しかし失恋ソングを選ぶ確率がどうも高くなる…

7. "Don't wanna know" by Maroon 5

こちらも比較（特に The more SV, the more S'V'）の導入として。この比較表現が入った歌詞が入った曲を見つけるのに苦労しました。そしてまたしても失恋ソング。
こちらも授業で使った公式MVがヒットしない。けどあのMVは意味不明で後半はちょっと高校生には不適切やったので見せていません。Adamの声は甲高くてちょっと聞き取りづらかったよう。

ここからはこれから扱う仮定法で使いたい曲の候補です。

仮定法過去の導入。中学の時にFMでめっちゃ流れてましたね。イントロのピアノは超印象的やし、ぜひ今の高校生にも聴いてほしい一曲。

ONE OK ROCKのボーカル・Takaのカバーも素晴らしい。（なぜかワンオクの公式動画がヒットしない…はてなの検索が悪いのかな。）

これも仮定法過去の導入で使いたい。生きるレジェンドですからね。ただちょっとしんみるする曲やからなぁ。

同じEric Claptonならこちらの方が雰囲気は上がるかな？CMでも使われてて聞き覚えがあるかもですし。 しかも何度も仮定法過去が登場して素晴らしい。（どうやら最近は演奏もままならないみたいで心配です。）
